Dr. Smartt is experienced with the chronic conditions that often develop, or worsen, as we age. These often include diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, COPD, kidney disease, insomnia, joint pain, and high cholesterol. She offers age and gender appropriate screenings and annual wellness visits focused on the detection of problems before they become major health issues. This type of early intervention leads to better outcomes and lower healthcare costs.

Dr. Smartt also treats the acute health problems that we all experience from time-to-time: colds, sore throat, influenza, stomach bugs, rashes, insect bites, sprains, cuts, and other minor injuries. She offers same day sick visits for those who find themselves ill today.

Serving the Needs of Children

As a physician, Dr. Smartt monitors your child as they progress with regular check-ups and provides age appropriate immunizations. She tracks physical and behavioral benchmarks as your child grows. Colds, earaches, strep throat, respiratory infections, allergies, asthma and playground injuries are all a part of the day at Smartt Family Medicine. We also offer same day sick visits for our younger patients.

As a mom, Dr. Smartt understands the importance of a tender, compassionate approach with the younger members of your family. Expectant parents are welcome to schedule an introductory session with Dr. Smartt to learn more about the practice.

Tweens and teens may appreciate the care of a family medicine doctor as they can feel they have outgrown a “baby doctor.”
